1.4. Oxylabs and its employees act in compliance with the applicable legal regulations as well as internal Oxylabs policies and documents.
1.5. This Code of Ethics of Oxylabs applies to all directors, officers and employees of Oxylabs irrespective of the type of their employment contract and their position, as well as contractors of Oxylabs.
1.6. We strongly support a Global Digital Compact of the United Nations, declaring a vision of an open, free, secure and human-centered digital future that rests on the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
2. Respect and diversity
2.1. Human rights. We respect and protect human rights and freedoms, recognised by national and international legal acts² and ensure we do not complicit in human rights abuses within our business operations. We also uphold democratic values and are committed to respecting rights under the international legal acts³.
2.2. Non-discrimination. At Oxylabs we respect each other with dignity and respect. Oxylabs implements the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion as well as non-discrimination regardless of gender, race, nationality, language, origin, social status, age, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, faith, beliefs or opinions, intention to have a child (children) or other grounds set out in laws.
2.3. Non-harassment. Oxylabs does not tolerate any form of violence and harassment at work and aims to create such a working environment in which an employee or their group would feel safe, which would provide opportunities for employees to fulfill themselves at work and in which they would not experience hostile, unethical, humiliating, aggressive, insulting, offensive actions that attack the privacy of an individual employee or their group‘s honor and dignity, physical or psychological inviolability of a person or which aim to intimidate, humiliate or push an employee or their group into a helpless and powerless position.
3. Labor practices
3.1. Labor practices. Oxylabs is against all forms of forced, compulsory or child labour. Oxylabs complies with applicable labor laws and regulations.
3.2. Equal opportunities. Oxylabs provides equal working conditions for all employees, including the conditions for improving qualifications, seeking professional training, retraining, gaining practical work experience, taking advantage of equal benefits offered by the Group etc.
3.3. Fair remuneration. Oxylabs provides equal pay to employees for equal work or work of the same value. The remuneration is based on the same principles and the final amount of remuneration depends on the employee’s qualifications, work experience, skills, delivered results and achieved targets, if any.
3.4. Health and safety. Oxylabs ensures a healthy and safe work environment that complies with applicable health and safety laws and regulations. Our employees are provided with the necessary training and appropriate health and safety equipment. We expect our employees to carry out their work in a safe manner, without causing harm to themselves or to others.
4. Responsible business conduct & transparency
4.1. Social responsibility. Oxylabs is committed to social, economic development, and to conduct responsible business, thus we engage with the communities we serve. We help solve important social problems in our communities by contributing our professional expertise and collaborating with other organizations to achieve maximum results.
4.2. Responsible business partners. We choose to work with responsible partners who base their activities on the principles of ethical and responsible business and shall be committed to conduct business in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation. Oxylabs avoids doing anything that would position themselves in violation of appropriate economic sanctions and export controls.
4.3. Competition. Oxylabs does not enter into discussions or agreements with the competitors or other parties concerning anti-competitive practices like market sharing or other similar activities.
4.4. Anti-corruption. Oxylabs opposes corruption in all forms or acts of a corrupt nature which are specified in the laws and other legal acts applicable to Oxylabs or in the Internal Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy, including such forms of corruption as seeking/demanding or offering a bribe, trading in influence, or other acts with the nature of corruption.
4.5. Gifts. Employees of Oxylabs can only accept business hospitality and gifts within the allowed limits (not exceeding EUR 100 ) and / or if they are open, reasonable, demonstrate a clear business objective, are appropriate for the nature of the business relationship, as for instance the gift has a promotional intent (usually marked with the trademark of the company giving the gift) and has little value. Gifts of a value exceeding EUR 100 shall be reported for the evaluation according to the Internal Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy of Oxylabs.
4.6. Anti-money laundering. Oxylabs does not provide any service, support illegal activities (e.g., terrorism, tax evasion, fraud) or enter into any arrangements that facilitates or may constitute Oxylabs directly or indirectly involved in economic crime, including money laundering activities.
4.7. Conflict of interest. Employees of Oxylabs are expected to always act in the best interest of Oxylabs and to exercise sound judgment, unaffected by private interests. An employee who faces a situation that may give rise to a conflict of interest or who notices a possible conflict of interest in other employee‘s activities must inform his employer according to the Internal Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy of Oxylabs.
5. Ethical business practices
5.1. Selecting partners. We promote ethical business practices, carefully selecting our partners based on a high level of performance and diverse perspective approach to web scraping. Oxylabs applies procurement standards and other practices that help us to identify the best partners.
5.2. Ethical proxies. Ethical Proxy Acquisition Framework of Oxylabs ensures that the proxies are procured from various sources adhering to the highest ethical standards (provided by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or sources ensuring fully consenting and rewarded individuals to participate in the residential proxy network).
5.3. Fair dealing. Oxylabs does not seek competitive advantage through illegal, unfair or unethical business practices. Employees of Oxylabs are expected to endeavor to deal fairly with each other and with clients, service providers, suppliers, business partners and competitors of Oxylabs. No employee should take an unfair advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or any unfair dealing practices.
5.4. Client centricity. We value customer centricity and consider it to be an essential aspect of our business strategy. We emphasize the voice of our customers across the organization, which feeds back into our services, products, and policies, allowing us to better meet our customers’ needs and create additional business value. Customer facing employees of Oxylabs are following the Quality Assurance Framework to ensure the highest quality standard and consistency of our services. We foster long-term, trust based relationships, strive to deliver exceptional value and enable our customers to reach their goals responsibly and ethically.
5.5. Protection of the Company property. Employees of Oxylabs are required to handle the property and information of Oxylabs with utmost care and consideration and do not use it for nonbusiness purposes. These resources encompass intellectual property (such as know-how, software, patents, brands, etc.), equipment, workplace facilities, tools, financial resources, and any other information of various types (technical, commercial, financial, social, etc.) which is considered confidential information of Oxylabs.
6. Data protection
6.1. We put our best efforts into adhering to the highest privacy standards stemming from relevant laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the US privacy laws, such as California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), applicable state or national laws, and best industry practices. Our data protection policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they remain aligned with industry best practices and current legal requirements.
6.2. We do only collect personal data necessary for the provision of our services and relationship maintenance with our employees or business partners. The data is processed transparently and securely, and we take appropriate measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, or theft.
7. Environmental protection
7.1. Oxylabs is committed to sustainable business practices. Oxylabs aims to identify, evaluate, avoid, reduce or mitigate harmful effects of our operations on the natural environment and resources and ensure continuous improvement of environmental performance. We seek to develop the competence and responsible approach of our employees to environmental protection. Oxylabs intends to minimize or eliminate emissions of greenhouse gasses as well as waste in our business practices.
8. Supervision
8.1. To ensure compliance with the Code of Ethics Oxylabs makes a whistleblowing mechanism available to interested parties to make comments, recommendations, reports or complaints concerning the workplace, the environment, business practices of Oxylabs or conduct of our employees. The whistleblowing mechanism is established in the Whistleblower Protection Policy of Oxylabs. All the concerns regarding violations of the Code of Ethics can be raised through the Speak Up channel (speak-up@oxylabs.io) on the Oxylabs Home internet page.
