We are happy to share that our pro bono initiative, Project 4β, has partnered with InSight Crime, a think tank and media organization dedicated to studying organized crime and citizen security in the Americas. Combining investigative journalism with academic rigor, InSight Crime provides reporting, analysis, and policy recommendations based on extensive fieldwork and a strong network of regional experts.
Founded in 2010 by Steven Dudley and Jeremy McDermott, InSight Crime is recognized as one of the leading authorities on organized crime in the Americas. The organization has conducted groundbreaking investigations into drug trafficking networks, money laundering schemes, state-criminal collusion, and the evolution of transnational gangs.
Its work spans from in-depth country investigations to real-time monitoring of criminal trends, offering critical insights for policymakers, journalists, and civil society. InSight Crime’s research and reporting have been widely cited by international media and institutions, making it a trusted voice in the global fight against organized crime.
Through the collaboration with Project 4β, InSight Crime now gains free access to Oxylabs’ Web Scraper API and Residential Proxies. These tools enable the organization to collect and analyze large-scale datasets, expanding their ability to uncover the dynamics of organized crime and its impact on societies across the region.
InSight Crime is excited to partner with Oxylabs, which is helping us do the vital research and investigations around the key threat in the Americas: organized crime. With Oxylabs’ assistance, we are pushing the boundaries of the conventional understanding of criminal organizations and their influence.

Project 4β also partners with investigative journalism organizations, such as Bellingcat, Global Witness, The Pulitzer Center, Debunk.org, to name a few. We invite academics, NGOs, NPOs, and other organizations to join the initiative and gain free access to tools that can help enhance their research and missions.
