Oxylabs’ Dedicated Proxies, acquired via self-service, give you absolute control over how, where, and when you use proxy IP addresses. These market-leading premium proxies offer unlimited bandwidth with rapid speeds and access to the most popular proxy locations.
See this quick guide to learn the essentials and jump-start your operations with Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies.
Go to the Oxylabs dashboard and create an account. Then, select Dedicated Datacenter Proxies from the Proxies tab and head to the Pricing section. Choose the number of IPs to buy, select the proxy locations if needed, and then proceed with the purchase. In case you have any questions or need more options, feel free to contact our 24/7 Support Team.
To access and use Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, you first need to create a proxy user. Enter your preferred username and password, and then click Create proxy user. Make sure to save your credentials for later use.
After completion, you can now form and run your first cURL request in a terminal or any other setup to test Dedicated Datacenter Proxies. Let’s send a query to https://ip.oxylabs.io/location using the first proxy in your list by indicating port 8001:
Here’s the same code for you to copy:
curl -x ddc.oxylabs.io:8001 -U "user-USERNAME:PASSWORD" https://ip.oxylabs.io/location
Once you execute this command, it’ll output the IP address of your request. This way, you can compare it with your actual IP address and ensure the setup works as expected. When connecting through the 8001 port, you’ll always use the same IP address that’s assigned to this port. If you want to use another IP, you must change the port to 8002, 8003, and so on. For more code examples, visit our documentation.
Within seconds of creating a proxy user, you’ll receive a confirmation message with a link to your proxy list.
You can also access your proxy list in the dashboard by clicking Dedicated Datacenter Proxies under the My Products section and selecting Proxy lists.
See this video for a step-by-step guide on how to create a proxy user, make a request, and access your proxy list:
Entry point | A gateway to connect to your proxies |
Port | A specific port to connect to a specific proxy from your list |
Country | The geographic location of your proxies |
Assigned IP | A particular proxy IP assigned to the indicated port |
Important: When making a request, you must connect to your proxy server by specifying the port number, not the IP address.
By default, we don’t rotate Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, so you can have unlimited session time. If you want to rotate proxies, you can easily do that by using the 8000 port with your requests. This method will pick a random IP from your list and run a request through it.
curl -x ddc.oxylabs.io:8000 -U "user-USERNAME:PASSWORD" https://ip.oxylabs.io/location
Dedicated Datacenter Proxies purchased through self-service don’t require you to specify the country for requests. All you have to do is look at your proxy list, take note of the proxy port assigned to an IP located in your desired country, and then use this port to make a request.
However, if you’re using rotating proxies, you must add the country parameter in your request, coupled with the two-letter country code. This way, you’ll run a request with a random IP from the specified country pool. For instance, the below cURL code picks a random IP from the United States proxy pool:
You can copy this code below:
curl -x ddc.oxylabs.io:8000 -U "user-USERNAME-country-US:PASSWORD" https://ip.oxylabs.io/location
Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies support HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5 protocols. For example, to connect through an HTTPS protocol, you must specify this in your request by adding https:// to your entry point, like so: https://ddc.oxylabs.io:8001.
Please ensure that the libraries or third-party tools you want to use support HTTPS and SOCKS5 protocols.
curl -x https://ddc.oxylabs.io:8001 -U "user-USERNAME:PASSWORD" https://ip.oxylabs.io/location
When using Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, you may get response codes that indicate specific reasons for success or failure. Here are the most common ones:
Response code | Error Message | Description |
---|---|---|
404 |
Not Found | The specified resource couldn’t be found. |
407 |
Proxy Authentication Required | An authorization header is missing, or your credentials are incorrect. |
500 |
Internal Server Error | We had a problem with our server. Try again later. |
503 |
Service Unavailable | Failed to connect to the target server. DNS failure to resolve the target server address. |
504 |
Gateway Timeout | A proxy server timed out while waiting for a response from the target server. |
You can view your usage statistics by visiting the Oxylabs dashboard. Under Statistics, you can find your traffic usage, the number of requests, and the number of errors received each day. There’s also an option to filter the statistics and view the metrics for a specific time period. Here’s what the dashboard looks like:
The statistics page:
2. You can filter the information by targets, subnets, and IPs. You may also additionally filter the data in these sections by date range, IP, subnet, target, or user. On this page, you’ll also be able to see the number of errors you’ve received.
