Our pro bono initiative Project 4β is product to welcome Doublethink Lab, a Taiwan-based non-profit dedicated to strengthening democratic resilience against disinformation and foreign information manipulation. Doublethink Lab brings together expertise in social, behavioral, and computational sciences to track propaganda, psychological warfare, and authoritarian influence operations.

At Oxylabs, we believe that access to reliable web intelligence should empower those who protect democracy, expose wrongdoing, and create lasting societal impact. Project 4β is our way of giving back to the global research and journalism communities, and we're proud to welcome such an impactful organization to the program

Julius Černiauskas, CEO of Oxylabs

About Doublethink Lab

Founded in 2019, Doublethink Lab is an internationally recognized NGO at the forefront of tracking disinformation and authoritarian influence in Asia and beyond. Based in Taiwan, the organization has conducted investigations into coordinated influence operations, election interference, and the global spread of authoritarian narratives.

Among its key projects is the China Index, a first-of-its-kind global survey measuring Beijing's media, academic, and political influence across 101 countries. Doublethink Lab has also mapped disinformation campaigns targeting Taiwan's elections, exposed state-linked propaganda efforts on social media platforms, and collaborated with international researchers to trace how authoritarian narratives spread across borders.

By combining rigorous data analysis with on-the-ground expertise, Doublethink Lab provides critical insights that support policymakers, journalists, and citizens in confronting today's information threats.

Countering Disinformation and Propaganda

Through the partnership with Project 4β, Doublethink Lab now uses Oxylabs' Web Scraper API and Residential Proxies to enhance its ability to monitor disinformation ecosystems and identify emerging threats. These tools enhance the organization's technical capacity to detect manipulation campaigns at scale and provide policymakers, researchers, and civil society with timely insights.

Democracies are under extreme pressure from information manipulation. Civil society confronts a tough strategic landscape as cynical actors deliberately erect barriers to threat monitoring. At this crucial moment in history, Oxylabs' generous support enables us to overcome barriers to data access, allowing us to detect and counter information threats to our democracies.

Tim Niven, Deputy CEO of Doublethink Lab
